About Me

My photo
Nairobi, Kenya
I am an ordinary girl wanting what everybody wants. A good life that serves a purpose. I found out early in my life that writing was the only way I could express myself and explore the world and my mind without fear. I write because it gives me relief. It is my therapy, my outlet.

MY LOVE, MY VALENTINE

In the dark, you sit with me,
You warm my bed when the wind whispers harshly,
You know the scent of my skin,
Kiss my toes in worship,
Blind to my faults,
You promise to grow old with me.

In the morning cold air, you run by my side,
I whine and cry my frustrations, you listen,
Can feel my presence a mile away,
Patiently waiting,
Welcome me home after a long day,
Am a believer, your loyalty overwhelming.

Oblivious to the day of Valentines,
Candy, flowers, cards, not important,
Body, mind, soul, am here,
Between me and danger is you,
Between me and pain, you again,
Man’s best friend, my valentine forever.

VALENTINE SPECIAL

Hand picked roses,
Colored paper-made lilies,
Plastic potted carnations,
Choose one or all,
Not sure what I want,
The teddy bear, big written I love you,
Or the heart shaped card, red,

Chef professional,
Fried eggs, bacon with cappuccino-breakfast,
For lunch; pilau, fresh salad and Cocacola,
Candle lit dinner, three course over chilled wine,
Am impressed,
Am content,
With you kitchen surprises.

You represent an elephant, strong and serving,
“Welcome”, with open arms,
Pampering me with very many offers,
You’re my valentine before and after fourteenth,
Our love, give and take,
And with a smile you say,
You need it, we’ve got it.
